CO2 Laser Resurfacing

CO2 laser resurfacing is highly effective in improving a wide range of skin concerns by removing damaged skin layers and stimulating collagen production. It helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles, particularly around the eyes, mouth, and forehead, while tightening the skin for a smoother, more youthful appearance.

About CO2 Laser Resurfacing

Cosmetic CO2 treatment, also known as fractional CO2 laser resurfacing, is a non-invasive procedure used to improve skin texture, reduce wrinkles and pigmentation, and treat scars. The laser works by delivering controlled energy to the skin, creating tiny columns of heat that stimulate collagen production and promote skin regeneration.

Recovery time typically ranges from 5 to 7 days, depending on the intensity of the treatment. During this period, patients may experience redness, swelling, and some peeling or flaking of the skin. Full healing can take up to 2 weeks, but most people can resume normal activities within a week, with proper care and sun protection. Results become more visible over time as the skin continues to improve and rejuvenate.

How C02 Laser Works

During the procedure, a CO2 laser is used to remove the outer layers of damaged skin. As the skin heals, new collagen is produced, which helps to smooth wrinkles and improve the skin’s texture. Depending on your needs, the depth and intensity of the laser can be adjusted.

CO2 laser resurfacing can address a variety of skin issues, including:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne scars and other types of scarring
  • Sun damage and age spots
  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Large pores
  • Stretch marks

Patients can see changes in their appearance after just one session. Your skin will need a brief recovery period that can take up to three weeks, but once this period passes, you’ll begin to notice a smoother texture and more even tone.

Mild Issues: If you have minor skin concerns like fine lines or mild sun damage, one to two sessions may be sufficient for visible improvement. Moderate Concerns: People with moderate skin issues, such as deeper wrinkles or moderate scarring, may require two to four sessions several weeks apart.

The patient’s skin will be weepy for two weeks and will require thorough cleaning four to five times daily, along with application of ointment to keep the skin from scabbing. The areas can take up to three weeks to heal. After that, the skin will remain pink or red for more time.
